Dr. Rodolfo Martinez was born in El Paso, TX. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at El Paso, where he majored in science and mathematics, in 1975. He received his MD from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington in 1979 and completed an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Kansas in Wichita, Kansas in 1982. He completed an Oncology Fellowship at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Tumor Institute in Houston, Texas in 1984.

Dr. Martinez practiced at Hendricks Medical Center in Abilene, Texas from 1985-1988. He then moved to Lubbock and began his private practice. Since then he has contributed to the growth and reputation of Southwest Hematology/Oncology Associates, P.A. as the facility's Medical Director. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine

Dr. Martinez' clinical interests include: Adult Oncology, Breast Cancer, Lymphomas, General Oncology and the health of cancer survivors.

Facility affiliations include the Association of Community Cancer Centers, National Cancer Institute, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Texas Society of Medical Oncology, Oncology Nursing Society, and West Texas Pharmaceutical Association.
